*** The Tastes and Talents of New Brunswick***

Come experience the world famous Maritime hospitality, as we treat you to a laid back evening featuring the best New Brunswick has to offer in food, culture and entertainment.

As you arrive at the state-of-the-art Richard J. Currie Center on the beautiful University of New Brunswick campus, you will be officially greeted by a bit of history in the form of period-dressed guards from Fredericton’s Historic Garrison District. Members of the UNB Woodsmen Team will also represent New Brunswick’s rich history in forestry by offering a first-hand demonstration of traditional lumber-jacking techniques.

Once inside, be sure to take full advantage of the opportunity to socialize with other conference delegates, while feasting on a wide selection of traditional local delicacies such as lobster, salmon and fiddleheads. And of course, don’t miss a chance to wash it all down with a local brew from Fredericton’s own Picaroons Traditional Ales – voted Brewery of the Year at the 2011 Canadian Brewing Awards!

The evening will kick into high gear when our talented and award winning line-up of musical entertainers take the stage to wow you with performances showcasing our rich musical heritage (you can bet there may be a fiddle or two involved!). Headlining the festivities will be New Brunswick’s own Matt Anderson - winner of three 2012 Maple Blues Awards (including Entertainer of the Year) and the only Canadian to win Memphis’ famed International Blues Challenge. Other featured entertainers include up-and-coming folk-rock artist Andy Brown (2010 Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival Galaxy Rising Star Winner), Acadian singer songwriter Monique Poirier, and high energy Celtic favorite The Durty Nellys.
